Aged Brickwork Renovation,
Battersea, London.
An 130yr old private school building.
Cleaning with everything from a hot steam clean, soda cleaning, and even shot blasting had produced poor results so we introduced tinting to dye back the original colour into the brickwork and give it a more pleasing refreshed finish.
Ironically, we then aged the brick slightly as the key challenge was to not make the brickwork look too new, it had to look right for a building of its age, just a renovated and refurbished and cleaned version.
The mortar had also been patched in numerous areas across the facades so we introduced local areas or repointing and mortar repairs and then colour tinted the mortar to one consistent colour finish as well as localised brickwork repairs.
